About the artist
Hello, my name is Victoria, and I am the creator of the Niya Jewelry project. Everything you see on the website is made by me, from the jewelry themselves to the photographs that showcase them.
By education I am a graphic artist. I graduated from the Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg. I learned jewelry making on my own. However, my first profession undoubtedly influenced my work with jewelry, and a significant role in my practice is played by the technique that requires good drawing skills, namely, miniature on vitreous enamel.
My project recently turned 8 years old. Over this time, I have tried many different techniques and materials, as I love to try new things and not stand still. So, on my portfolio page, you will find works made of enamel, titanium, wood, and porcelain.
Of course, I have my own style and dedication to certain principles in my creative work. For example, I prefer fairly concise design solutions and dislike clutter from excessive details. Therefore, I am often inspired by Japanese decorative arts and crafts.
